MRIS CEO Named One of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders of 2010

December 20, 2010

ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Some people play the game, while others change it. In real estate, one of those game-changers is David C. Charron, president and CEO of MRIS, who has been named to the Inman 100 by leading real estate industry publication Inman News. The Inman annual list of the most influential people in real estate recognizes power brokers, thought leaders, and visionaries who influence the real estate industry with their words, actions, insight, and innovations.

“It certainly makes the year very special to be honored by Inman News,” remarked Charron. “Being selected to the Inman 100 is far more a validation of what we are trying to accomplish at MRIS than it is a personal tribute. To me, it’s all about the value created by our volunteer and professional teams when we work in concert on the company’s strategy. I’m so proud that we’ve been innovating to support our key customers, real estate professionals working in a 22,000 square mile region of the US, while also advancing the profession by offering smart, edgy tools and resources to them.”

This year’s Inman 100 recognizes industry heavyweights who hold the power to move the industry forward during this prolonged period of economic hardship and uncertainty.

“We are thrilled to announce David Charron on the Inman 100 list this year,” says Tim Smith, CEO, Inman News. “David made his mark on the industry early and hasn’t looked back. During his tenure at MRIS he has been esteemed for his focus on advancing the interests of the industry rapidly by propelling new technology and tools as well as mandating regulations and standards.”

Charron is included in the Trade Organization and MLS category of the Inman 100. He has an extensive background in real estate, information systems, and Internet business solutions. At MRIS since 1998, he is responsible for overseeing all operations and for ensuring ongoing communications with the MRIS Board of Directors and the MRIS Shareholders. Charron has managed several organizations that have successfully defined, marketed, and delivered information systems to real estate professionals.

The Inman 100 nomination comes on the heels of Charron being appointed by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) to the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) 2011 Board of Directors. The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR) recently named MRIS Affiliate of the Year recognizing the organization’s exemplary business practices, conduct, civic activity, and industry involvement; MRIS’ first time receiving this recognition from NVAR.
