Human Resources Generalist
Duties include administering all aspects of Human Resources to include full-cycle recruiting, assimilation and retention, employee relations, leadership development and training, benefits, compensation administration, employee services and other responsibilities as directed by the Vice President of Human Resources. Also supports the Vice President of Human Resources in the strategic planning process and implementation of corporate initiatives and partners with business management to provide consultative human resources support.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 6 – 9 years’ human resources experience. Previous employee relations and recruitment (especially technical) experience is required. Experience in project management; benefit, salary and compensation administration; and development and facilitation of leadership/training programs are preferred. Experience working within an environment where individual has been exposed to confidential and sensitive information important. PHR or SPHR certification is a plus. Demonstrated ability to develop, cultivate and maintain effective work relationships with employees, upper management and the general public is required. Must be able to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with company policies, procedures, regulations, and state and federal law. Ability to offer advice, exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is a must. The ability to handle difficult and challenging situations while juggling multiple priorities is required. Project leadership skills from concept through implementation supporting cross-functional business needs are needed. Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills. Effective communication skills -- oral, written and platform – are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be a creative self-starter with a sense of urgency who is extremely results driven. Must demonstrate a full knowledge of the fundamental principles, concepts and techniques related to human resources and must be able to perform moderately complex tasks independently. Must exhibit independent judgment to complete tasks that occasionally require non-standard solutions.
